About Kasey

2013-12-30: "Kasey had been abused and then abandoned, he was found during a snowstorm on December 11, 2009 and brought to the CHS (Calgary Humane Society) - the staff had named him Snowball due the circumstances, they determined he was about a year old so his official birthdate is December 11, 2008. We adopted him after Christmas and brought him home on January 8, 2010. We are so blessed to have him in our family. Kasey is very independent but loves attention as long as it's on his terms, loves his walks (I trained him to a harness and lead which he took to like a duck to water). He very seldom purrs but when he does there is no sound, just the vibrations that I can feel and the more you play with him the more he wants you to! He's also a very laid back fellow and very gentle with everyone he meets." ~ Allynn Chromick.

More About Kasey

  • "Kasey is listed by the CHS as a long-haired domestic cat, he does have angora in him and we think a bit of Siamese going by his meow, slanted blue eyes, long body and long hind legs .... he's also a talker and loves to go for walks on his leash." ~ Allynn Chromick.

  • Q: Many white cats are deaf. Is Kasey deaf?
A: "Kasey was tested by the CHS as he was not communicative when he was brought in - he's not deaf but he does have selective hearing. If a pure white cat had a beige area on their forehead as a kitten it means they are not deaf, the colouring disappears by the time they are an adult." ~ Allynn Chromick. [source]

Earlier Biographies About Kasey

  • 2013-07-24: "Kasey was adopted three years ago (2-Jan-2010) from the CHS (Calgary Humane Society). He had been abused and found abandoned in a snow storm. I've never seen a more laid back cat as him, even after being abused and abandoned he's so gentle and loving. One of Kasey's favourite perches ... the garage roof. Kasey knows he's not suppose to be up there. He thinks he's king of the castle. He was shaved in May-2013 to remove mats and his hair is now like a soft down, another month or so and it'll be much longer. Everyone thought he was a big cat with short legs ... he has a very long body and long, long legs and weighs all of 11 lbs." ~ Allynn Chromick.

He had been abused and found abandoned in a snow storm, and it has taken a while for him to trust us but he has finally come around. Kasey sure loves his toy puppy that was given to him while in residence at CHS. Too bad he doesn't feel that way about real dogs... he's scared to death of them." ~ Allynn Chromick.
